People always make the mistake of thinking art is created for them. But really, art is a private language for sophisticates to congratulate themselves on their superiority to the rest of the world. As my artist’s statement explains, my work is utterly incomprehensible and is therefore full of deep significance. - Calvin

Amor

He can't take you anywhere, if you don't wanna go
He can't take your breath away, If you don't really want so..

I could be seventeen or  I could be seventy.
I could be in a crowd or somewhere all alone.
I could have something to reach out other than only my thoughts or maybe not.
I could be screaming out to you or I could be gagging.
I could, I should, I most probably would.
But I fear my voice would be really feeble.
I fear I might be too far away, in terms of both earshot and attention.
I will still try reaching out with that muffled voice.
But I fear you will not be able to hear.

My tears, your lullaby

I can cry you a river, I can drown you in its sea,
I can be what scares you but that won't really be me.
Spice is what I always brought,
Salt is what you always sought,
You said it's not always sugar and spice and all that's nice,
So how are these a constant; my wounds and this salt and ice?

I have always wanted to be a princess, wear a tiara and be the centre of your universe.
But wishes are little fishes that swim beautifully in the pond of desires.
They look pretty, mesmerising, titillating by being so near yet so far.
They give birth to desire that culminates into disappointment and finally despair.
The fishes can shimmer from a distant galaxy, light up my universe but from an arm's length.
You rock your universe while I shall go be my own princess.
Thank you....

Of sweet nothings, amor Senor!

So much in love, always, ever since, forever. Hopelessly smitten, even with warm abrasive tears assaulting the cheeks. Happiness in love, love in happiness, loving the happiness, happy for all the love. Love songs, making sense always, all the time. When you hand over those special somethings around dear Lord, ensure that you drop love in my kitty. Don't gimme hope, its elusive, makes you wait, at times till an eternity or what seems like it. Don't gimme courage, it has made martyrs and fools out of men alike. Don't gimme fame and fortune, the former brings unprecedented lonliness and enemies and the latter a false sense of security.
Just hand me the love. Years back I would have asked you for the kind that did not cheat hurt or manipulate but now no such limitations no more. Just give me the power to love in any and every situation. It will be my salvation, my chain of Buddha moments when I can look and feel beyond the power of another individual to hurt and just return pure unadulterated love. Its a favour to oneself when another's actions induce belittling anger, resentment and scores of alien hateful feelings.
Help me hold on to the love, its my faith, its my hope, its my street to salvation. It is probably all I have got.

Dum Ali more angna daras dikha

Have loved this song and have been looking for its lyrics since eternity. After a lot of searching around I thought of doing the honours myself as I came across so many posts and questions here and there inquiring where these lyrics could be found. Enjoy!

Ali more angna daras dikha dum ali more angna daras dikha
Ishq mein tere jogan ban gayi (2)
Dil mera dole, eee heyy eyyeee
Cham cham bole payaliya mori payaliya re
Ali more angna daras dikha dum ali more angna daras dikha

Rahon mein teri palken bichaun (2)
Haan main tere sadke jaaun (2)
Vajf mein aakar main jhumungi (2)
Haan chaukhat teri chumungi main (2)

Ishq mein tere jogan ban gayi (2)
Dil mera dole, eee heyy eyyeee
Cham cham bole payaliya mori payaliya re
Ali more angna daras dikha dum ali more angna daras dikha (2)

Sun le araj tu ek birhan ki (2)
Haan raunak ban dil aangan ki (2)
Daaman dil khushiyon se saja de (2)
Haan meri wafa ka sila de de kuch (2)

Ishq mein tere jogan ban gayi (2)
Dil mera dole, eee heyy eyyeee
Cham cham bole payaliya mori payaliya re
Ali more angna daras dikha dum ali more angna daras dikha (2)

Kitni hasi hai aamad teri (2)
Haan roshan duniya meri ab (2)
Teri deewani hu jaane habibi (2)
Haan waari jaun mehboobi main (2)

Ishq mein tere jogan ban gayi (2)
Dil mera dole, eee heyy eyyeee
Cham cham bole payaliya mori payaliya re
Ali more angna daras dikha dum ali more angna daras dikha (2)

It is nice, but it ain't all that very heartening you know.
I don't know if you would understand or have ever felt the same.
It is a strange feeling, something like wearing a custom made dress and spilling over
or indulging in that favourite flavour of ice cream and not connecting with the taste.
The strangeness and the sadness around it multiplies
as you know you are dealing with a favourite here.
You know you got it custom made when you felt the fabric
picked up the buttons, chose the hemline and gave "your" measurements.
It was hand made for you, for your sensibilities,
keeping just your likes and dislikes it mind.
Then how does it not feel as right as you always imagined it to,
as it was always supposed to?
And worst of all is the question that what exactly do you feel about it all and how exactly do you deal with it.
Do you imagine that all this is just a figment of your imagination and not a real phenomenon.
Do you tell yourself that well, things, fittings, flavours and people change and you keep breathing.
Do you doubt your past sensibilities and accuse your memory of playing tricks on you.
Or do you just go ahead and get yourself a set of new favourites and well in that case what do you do when fate and life decide to enjoy a  laugh at your expense and present you with the same set of equations & questions.
